47 ABC: Johnny delivered Kennedy Krieger, Ocean City, and UMES funding home

When the 2026 session ended, Johnny did what most Annapolis insiders never do — he came home to the Eastern Shore, sat down with the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce, and walked local business leaders through what actually got done and what’s still in play.

The Shore had real wins this session. Eastern Shore tax dollars came home — for the Kennedy Krieger Eastern Shore Campus, for Ocean City Beach protection, for improvements at UMES. That’s not Annapolis being generous. That’s Johnny fighting to make sure District 37 gets its fair share back from the state coffers Shore families pay into every year.

This is the kind of work that doesn’t show up in the daily news but shows up in actual buildings, actual beaches, and actual classrooms. And it shows up because Johnny keeps showing up — at the Chamber, at the watermen’s halls, at the farm bureaus — and carrying what he hears back into the room where decisions get made.
